Clicking noises when zooming

I have had my S9600 for a few months now and I am still getting used it. One thing that irritates me is a clicking noises that happen every time I zoom in or out. There are other wee noises too. Is this normal?

Also, I am not convinced my landscapes are in focus...can't make my mind up if the camera is faulty, I have the shakes, my PC screen is out of focus or my eyesight is bad.

The clicking noises are probably the drive motors auto-focusing the camera. It's normal.

My landscapes are fine. Check them out on another PC screen at your library or something.

Im pretty sure you can get rid of all the clicking sounds. Just go through the settings and you'll find it :)

The Clicking sound is due to the camera being set on "Continuos auto focus". there are three setting
1. Continuous Auto Focus
2. Single Auto Focus
3. Manual Focus.
This is set on the left hand side of the camera at the front - near the barrel of the lens.

Give it a go.

The Bracketing feature allows you to set the aperture on the camera and then automatically take three frames - One a setting above the set aperture and another a setting below the aperture.
Select this by pressing the "multi shot" button on the top right hand side of the camera (you can not take multiple pictures if the camera is set to RAW). Then use the scroll wheel to select 'Bracketing' (its the one with three rectangles).
remember to have your camera on the tripod when you use this as the camera will move from the subject.

Good Luck - Joe

The other comment in your post (landscapes not in focus) - can you give a little more information please. Is the landscape out of focus through the eye viewer, the display screen or on your computer?
